Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were recently in Colombia.
The couple, who have stepped away from their roles in the Royal Family, had a meeting with Colombia’s vice president, Francia Marquez. They also made an appearance on stage at the Petronio Alvarez Pacific Music Festival in Cali.
During their visit on Sunday, August 18, the two spoke to a crowd of enthusiastic fans. They dressed casually for the event, with Harry in a blue button-down shirt and Meghan in a spaghetti strap dress featuring a green and white pattern.
However, it wasn’t their outfits that caught people’s attention, but rather Meghan’s surprising skill. People were amazed at how well she speaks Spanish, with several clips quickly gaining popularity on social media.
In a touching video, the former Suits star was seen translating for her husband.
“Thank you for your warm welcome,” the Duke expressed. Meghan then repeated the same words in Spanish. Harry continued, saying, “Thank you for your beautiful culture,” and once more, Meghan translated.
“And thank you, thank you, for your incredible hospitality,” Harry finished, and Meghan promptly followed up with her thanks in Spanish.
Fans quickly shared their thoughts on the clip, with one commenting, “Wow, her Spanish is really good. Impressed with her accent.” Another added, “Is there anything the woman can’t do??? She’s brilliant!”
A third person said, “She is incredibly talented.” While a fourth mentioned, “Spanish is my first language, and she knows more Spanish than I do!”
Although they are no longer active members of the Royal Family, the couple’s visit had all the elements of an official royal tour. This was their second trip this year, after spending three days in Nigeria back in May.
