The socialite from Switzerland, who went by the moniker “cat” because of her unusual appearance, maintains that she has never had plastic surgery.
Rather, she attributes her “long hair and high cheekbones” to her “Swiss background.”
Fans are now calling her an “icon” after she posted very youthful images of herself on Instagram that belie her 84 years of age.
The socialite initially gained notoriety in the late 1990s when she filed for divorce from her late husband, the late Alec N. Wildenstein, a French millionaire art dealer with whom she had two children.
According to Reuters, the socialite and her husband parted ways in 1999, and she was awarded a $2.5 billion divorce settlement along with further annual payments of $100 million for the next 13 years.
After dating for 15 years, Wildenstein and French fashion designer Lloyd Klein,57, got engaged in 2017.
The New York Post revealed a year later that Wildenstein had declared bankruptcy. One of the three condo apartments she had converted into a single house at Trump World Tower was allegedly auctioned by her creditors.
In 2018, Wildenstein responded to the claims of plastic surgery in an interview with Daily Mail TV.
When asked if she’d had plastic surgery, the socialite responded: “No, especially when we look back at my pictures – I think of course I am maybe more beautiful [back then].”
‘When we are young there’s a certain freshness we lose with the years. But you still find the same eyes, same high cheeks, or same nose. I think I was more pretty.”
Her fiancé Klein added: “I don’t understand the whole press and the Catwoman thing because Jocelyn always looked like that.”
In an interview with Mel Ottenberg, the editor-in-chief of Interview magazine, Wildenstein went into more detail.
She stated: “Journalists can say whatever they like… I never bother to make a contradiction.”
To quell rumors about her appearance, the socialite posted a vintage picture of herself from her time studying ballet on Instagram when she was just 15 years old.
She stressed that her features are natural and denounced the proliferation of phony photos in a caption that has since been removed.
She penned (per The Sun): “#Tbt, that’s me, Jocelyn Wildenstein, at ballet classes in Switzerland at 15 years old – so maybe you should stop speculating on my image. Stop photoshopping my images because you are all wrong. Stop posting fake images of me. You will be able to watch the true image of me very soon on screen.”
The Times claims that Wildenstein holds her late ex-husband responsible for igniting the surgery rumors during their public divorce.
Alec Wildenstein asserted in a 1998 Vanity Fair interview that “she was crazy. I would always find out last.”
“She was thinking that she could fix her face like a piece of furniture. Skin does not work that way. But she wouldn’t listen.”
Notwithstanding the thoughts of others, the socialite persists in flaunting her opulent lifestyle and attractive appearance on Instagram.
Commenting on her photos, one fan writes: “If you feel as good as you look, you must be a very fit and beautiful 30-year-old!”
Another follower gushes: “This is beautiful! You’re an icon.”
“You look very youthful Jocelyn!” comments a third follower.
A fourth says: “Always have been and always will be beautiful!”
“You just keep getting better,” somebody else insists.
