Haliey Welch, known online as Hawk Tuah Girl, seems to have called Yung Gravy out on Twitter following his decision to post screenshots of their private messages.
Hailey, who gained fame as Hawk Tuah Girl, had previously mentioned that Yung Gravy, the ‘Betty’ rapper, had asked her out, but she turned him down.
In response, Yung Gravy shared parts of their Instagram conversation online, suggesting his intentions were merely friendly, not romantic.
One of his tweets included the message: “Damn I just looked at ur page and u really out here doing this s**t lol congrats b [sic].”
He added in another message: “When I went to find your page I was fr just trying to salute you for being a certified top champ.”
“This ain’t just me trying to finesse cause idk your man’s situation,” he continued. “But I wanted to have you at a show next month to hear my country s**t.”
However, Haliey quickly reacted to his tweet by posting more of their chat, showing that Yung Gravy had initially messaged her first.
His first message to Haliey was on July 29 with a simple “Hello ma’am,” to which she replied two days later.
Yung Gravy followed up by sharing the dates of his U.S. concerts and sent her a link to his Spotify to check out his new country music.
Haliey retweeted the rapper’s post and commented, “Close but no gravy.”
Her reply has been called ‘savage’ by online observers, with one responding, “Savage showing them receipts.”
“The drama I didn’t know I needed,” another commented, while a third joked, “Bros about to change his name from gravy to grave after the way you killed him with that.”
The exchange has sparked speculation about potential bad blood between Yung Gravy and Haliey.
One Twitter user suggested, “No reason to beef, Gravy is a good guy, you should meet him.”
Haliey clarified that there’s no animosity between her and Yung Gravy, responding, “No beef just having fun.”
Although she’s taking the situation lightly, some observers have criticized Haliey for attempting to call out the rapper, believing Yung Gravy didn’t do anything inappropriate.
“What are we supposed to get out of this?” one person asked. “He wasn’t asking you out aggressively. It wasn’t even direct.”
“Maybe he should’ve been, then this expose would’ve made sense.”
Another person questioned the basis of her claim, asking, “At what point in these screenshots did he ask you out?”
