Meghan Markle stirred up conversations once more after she and Prince Harry joined CBS News anchor Jane Pauley to discuss their experiences with cyberbullying.
Their latest initiative, The Parent Network, focuses on promoting child safety online and supporting families who have lost children to suicide.
During the interview on Sunday (August 4), 43-year-old Meghan opened up about her harrowing experiences with online harassment and her own struggles with suicidal thoughts.
Meghan expressed: “I haven’t really scraped the surface of my experience but I do think that I would never want someone else to feel that way. And I would never want someone else to be making those sorts of plans and I would never want someone else not to be believed.”
“So, if me voicing what I have overcome will save someone, or encourages someone in their life to really genuinely check in on them, and not assume that the appearance is good and so everything is okay, then that’s worth it. I’ll take a hit for that,” as reported by the Express.
Before the interview aired, GB News’ Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster offered viewers a sneak peek of the conversation, setting the stage for commentary.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield then shared her views, applauding The Parents Network as a positive initiative but questioning whether Harry and Meghan were the right messengers. “I would argue that they’re not,” Kinsey stated. “Where is their concern for their family’s mental health?”
She continued: “If you want to stamp out cyber bullying, you should probably remove Chrissy Teigan from your friends circle. Chrissy Teigan is famous in the States for telling a 16-year-old girl online to go kill herself.”
Kinsey was talking about Courtney Stodden, a US media personality who claimed they got death threats from the model between 2011 and 2012.
She added: “So if Meghan truly wants to be the internet police and manage online bullying, she should probably start closer to home and remove some of these people from her circle.”
“I imagine that she’s smart enough to know that by making some of these comments, it’s going to drudge up the Oprah Winfrey interview where she accuses the British Royal Family of not helping her through her own mental health struggles.”
